About the app

RolloTV is a media player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, and Android phones, tablets, and boxes.

You give it a playlist you already pay for. It gives that playlist a TV interface: categories, a program guide, channel logos, search, favorites, and resume.

No. RolloTV is a media player only. We do not include or sell any content. Users are responsible for the content they add and must only use playlists they have legal rights to access.

The app installs empty and stays empty until you add a playlist. We do not sell playlists at any price, and none are bundled with the app.

The app holds no video, so writing it, sharing it, and installing it are all lawful.

What you play is your responsibility. Using a playlist you are not authorized to access may break the law where you live. That is between you and whoever sold it to you. See our disclaimer and terms of service.

Two different things get mixed up here.

To have something to watch, you need a playlist: an M3U URL or an Xtream Codes login. That comes from a provider. We are not that provider and we do not sell playlists.

To unlock RolloTV's four Premium features, you need an activation code from us: €6.99 for a year, or €17.99 once for lifetime, per device. A code unlocks software, nothing watchable. The player itself is free, and every new install gets a 7-day free trial of Premium first.

The app has no ads, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no Google Play Services.

Some things still leave the device. The app contacts our license server to check your activation. Optional features contact other services: artwork lookups, the weather line on the home screen, and subtitles if you sign in to OpenSubtitles. The Privacy Policy lists each one.

Installing

Anything running Android 6.0 or later:

  • Android TV sticks, boxes, and TVs with Android built in
  • Google TV devices
  • Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV sets
  • Android phones and tablets

One download covers all of them. The app ships 32-bit ARM libraries, so older sticks and boxes still work.

No. RolloTV is an Android app. It does not run on iOS or iPadOS, or on Samsung Tizen or LG webOS TVs. Those are different app platforms.

If your TV is not an Android TV or Google TV set, the usual fix is a small Android TV stick or box in an HDMI port.

On a TV, use the free Downloader app and enter code 6404827.

On a phone, tablet, or box with a browser, download the installer from rollotv.com/apk. Step-by-step guides for every device.

Not yet. Google Play is planned. It is not on the Amazon Appstore either.

For now use Downloader code 6404827 or the direct installer. Both give you the same app.

Repeat the install you did the first time: the same Downloader code, or the same download link.

The new version installs over the old one. Your playlists, favorites, watch history, and activation all stay.

Playlists

Open RolloTV, choose to add a source, pick M3U, and paste your playlist URL. Include http:// or https://. If your provider gave you an XMLTV guide URL, add that too.

It has to be a link. RolloTV has no file picker and cannot open an .m3u file saved on the device. Full M3U guide.

It is an API. Instead of downloading one long text file, the app asks your provider's server direct questions. You sign in with a server address, a username, and a password.

Because the app can ask for specifics, you get real categories, movie and series details, a built-in guide, your account expiry date, and catch-up. A plain M3U file gives you none of those. Full Xtream guide.

From a provider you have the legal right to use.

We cannot help with this. We sell no playlists, bundle none, partner with no provider, and do not recommend or list any. Support cannot answer requests for one.

Yes. Six profiles on a TV, five on a phone or tablet.

Each profile keeps its own favorites, watch history, and optional 4-digit PIN. You can mix M3U and Xtream profiles.

Three possible reasons.

Catch-up is hidden on M3U profiles. A playlist file has no way to describe past broadcasts, so it needs an Xtream login.

On an Xtream login it only appears if your provider keeps an archive. And catch-up is a Premium feature, so it needs an activation code.

Activation

Four features:

  • Movie and series playback from your own playlist
  • Catch-up, on Xtream servers that offer it
  • Multiview: four live channels on one screen
  • Auto-subtitles, using your own OpenSubtitles account

Everything else is free: live TV, the full program guide, browsing movies and series including detail pages, search, favorites, continue watching, all profiles, the profile PIN, subtitle styling, display modes, and playback speed.

A code unlocks features. It never adds channels, movies, or series.

Yes. The first time you install RolloTV on a device, every Premium feature is unlocked for 7 days. You need no code, no account and no payment.

Each device gets one trial. It is tied to the Device ID, so uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not start another one.

When the trial ends, the app switches to the free features and keeps working. Activate a code at any time, during or after the trial, to keep Premium. How to activate.

Open the Premium screen in the app. It shows your Device ID and a QR code.

Type the code in the app, or scan the QR code and enter it at rollotv.store/premium, which is easier than typing on a remote. Then press Check Activation in the app. Full activation guide.

No. A code is tied to the device you activate it on, so a TV and a phone need one code each.

The free part of the app works on as many devices as you want.

A factory reset changes the Device ID. The server then sees a different device.

Send us your old and new Device IDs and we will move the seat.

Premium keeps working for seven days without reaching our server, so an outage on either end will not interrupt you.

After that the app needs to connect once to recheck the license.

Playback problems

This is almost always an audio format your device cannot decode on its own.

RolloTV ships software decoders for AC3, E-AC3, DTS, and TrueHD to cover exactly this, so it happens less here than in other players. If one stream is still silent, open Audio & Subtitles during playback and pick another audio track. Many streams carry several.

Buffering is nearly always the connection or the provider, not the player. Video goes straight from your provider to your device and never passes through us.

Try these in order:

  • Move the device closer to the router, or use a 5 GHz network or Ethernet.
  • Check whether another device is using the same playlist right now.
  • Try a different channel, to see if it is one stream or all of them.

If only one channel buffers, the problem is at your provider.

This is usually your provider's limit on simultaneous connections.

On an Xtream profile, the account screen in RolloTV shows how many connections are open against your maximum. A device left paused can hold a connection for a while after you stop watching.

Yes, and it is free. Settings has a subtitle styling screen with a live preview. You can change size, style, and position. Picking a subtitle track during playback is free too.

The Premium part is fetching subtitles automatically from OpenSubtitles. That uses your own OpenSubtitles account, because the download quota belongs to the account.

English and French. Pick one in Settings, or let it follow your device language.

That is the app's own interface. The language of what you watch depends on your playlist.

Contact us. Include four things:

  • Your device model
  • The app version, from the Settings screen
  • Whether your playlist is M3U or Xtream
  • Whether the problem hits one channel or all of them

With those, you usually get an answer in one reply instead of four.
